Garage doors in Fort Myers
Fort Myers splits into very different areas. Along McGregor Boulevard and in the older neighborhoods near downtown, such as Dean Park and Edison Park, the houses are decades old, with small garages, low headroom and doors that need a careful look before anyone quotes. Homes near the Caloosahatchee took on water during Hurricane Ian, and flood water leaves rust in the bottom panels, track and cables long after the garage looks dry. South and east of the city, communities like Whiskey Creek, Gateway and Pelican Preserve have newer attached garages with standard double doors, where the usual calls are worn springs, tired openers and sensors out of line. Many of these addresses are in unincorporated Lee County rather than the city, which changes who issues a permit.
